In a city known for its vibrant music and cultural scene, a new kind of harmony is emerging—one that resonates deep within the body, mind, and soul. At the heart of this movement is Aleks Chojnacka, a breathwork facilitator and the owner and visionary behind Detox House, Nashville’s sauna, cold plunge, and breathwork portal. As a female entrepreneur in a field traditionally dominated by men, she is changing the conversation around wellness. But what sets her apart is not just the space and offering she's created, but her groundbreaking approach that transcends the physical benefits commonly associated with these practices - this is a spiritual experience.
While Detox House services will have the same physical benefits as many other wellness studios emphasize —weight loss, muscle recovery, detoxification—it also dives into the profound and often overlooked realm of mental health and nervous system regulation. For her, cold plunge therapy, sauna sessions, and breathwork are not just tools for physical rejuvenation but gateways to higher consciousness and emotional healing.
"Beyond the physical benefits to sauna, cold plunge, and breathwork, there are really important emotional impacts. Emotions live in our body and over time they store themselves there and have this underlying impact on how we show up in the world.
Detox House helps you release these things so we can move with more freedom within our own bodies."
Her studio is a sanctuary where clients are invited to connect with themselves in a new way - a way that reminds them of their own power. The careful balance of extreme cold and heat, combined with controlled breathwork, helps stimulate the vagus nerve—a key player in emotional regulation and mental clarity. Aleks sees these practices as crucial for nervous system health, helping her clients build resilience, reduce anxiety, and tap into a state of deep inner calm so they can live more freely.
“This is a spiritual experience,” Aleks says. “Whether you're dealing with burnout, seeking emotional balance, or looking to expand your consciousness, the combination of cold, heat, and breath creates an opportunity for real, lasting change."
Aleks' own journey into this realm started from a deeply personal place. Aleks was experiencing chronic fatigue in her early twenties which was preventing her from doing all the things she wanted to do (and as a young and excitable female, it hurt her soul). She set out on a search of her own healing which involved every single modality you can think of (both eastern and western). On her path, she discovered the transformative power breath when she met Wim Hof in 2016 and it really solidified the connection between nervous system health and physical health. Now, she’s on a mission to share these modalities and remind people to believe in their bodies - they are a gateway to deeper connection with ourselves.
She’s not just shifting the way people approach wellness but also paving the way for women entrepreneurs in a field where they’re often underrepresented.
“There’s something incredibly empowering about holding space for others in such an intimate and transformative way,” Aleks reflects. “This work isn’t just about physical health; it’s about helping people tap into their inner power and elevate their state of being. Bearing witness to that gets me out of bed in the morning”
In an industry that often focuses on external outcomes, Detox House is flipping the script. At our studio, healing happens from the inside out—offering Nashville a unique, soulful approach to modern wellness that goes far beyond the surface.
Detox House is currently running a monthly residency at Soho House for members, offering pop-up events around Nashville (next one is at 1 Hotels), and operates a physical speakeasy that includes all three modalities. Detox House offers cold plunge, sauna therapy, and breathwork, designed to nourish mental health and spiritual well-being. Founded by Aleksandra Chojnacka, a trailblazer in the wellness industry, the studio is redefining the role of these ancient practices, focusing on nervous system health and personal transformation. We don't just want to Imagine a world where everyone is operating from a centered place -- we want to see it.
